Weekend!!
This weekend, I forgot to blog but here I am on a Monday night thinking about how my weekend went. I went to the doctor on Thursday afternoon and found out that I have a bladder infection! YUCK!!! Not fun at all....So they told me they were going to call in my medicine for me to pick up and it took almost a hour for me to get six stinking pills...so needless to say I was supposed to work at six but I had to call in and tell them I would be a little later due to not getting my medicine when they said I would! I also hung out with one of my good friends, she had German night at her house. Great food and great friends couldn't make for a better night even though I wasn't feeling the greatest. Then I spent the rest of the weekend doing laundry and studying for my test that were this week!!

Formative years of childhood
Focus on: “to a large extent, your self-concept is formed by what others tell you about yourself, especially during the formative years of childhood.”
Do you agree with this statement?
What experiences did you have in your formative years that helped shape your self-concept?
I do agree with this statement because when I went to private school preschool-6th grade and I had the same friends and teachers that were always around. I grew a great deal about myself because I always had positive reinforcement about things I did that were good and when I needed help I was not afraid to ask. Also, my parents always told me that they always had faith in me to accomplish anything I set my mind to, this has always been with me and they still tell me that today. Also, having a close group of friends in elementary school helped me know that no matter what they looked like or how they acted they were still people just the same and that I was friends with them even if I didn't what to play on the the playground with them all the time. I also think that since I am the first born I always tried to play "mom" to my little sister. My mom would always let me help take care of her and I was always been the supportive one listening to my little sister and my friends and also the teacher because I would also try and teach my sister everything I knew. I was also called sunshine as a nickname by my family because I was always smiling and also tried to find the positive in everything.

Accept, Courage, Wisdom
From chapter one in our text book the most important thing to remember for change is that it is a proactive process, and only you can decide what you want to change and how much change is right for you. Also it surprised me the Serenity Prayer (page 6) is in the textbook. I have this typed up and on my wall at school and at home where I can see at all times. This does say a lot about change and does change my perspective of things when I am down or think I can’t do something.
This semester one thing I would like to change and grow from is connection with my family. I am getting to the point in my life where I am realizing that my great grandma and my grandparents will not be here as long as I would like them to be. I do not know very much about my great grandma and my grandma from my dad’s side and it has been hard to talk to them after they pushed us (my family), out of their lives and moved. It has taken many years before I would even consider talking to them. But that has changed when I called my grandma for her birthday and it was great to talk to her. I know I will continue to try and talk to her more and learn more about my family from that side. My grandparents from my mom’s side, I am very close to and they mean the world to me and my goal is that since they live closer is to see them more often and not think of it as “Oh I should go spend time with them.” Make it positive and know that they love to see me and that I should feel great that they are still here to go see and spend time with. Also to spend more time with my family when I am home from school and to cherish that time and also become closer to my sister.
